During the season of tung blossoms, the city is resounded with traditional Hakka music.

 

The band, Guanxi Ancestral Longxi Bayin, a preserver of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Hsinchu County known as "Hakka Bayin," will deliver a masterful performance. Through the guidance of the host, the audience will gain an understanding of the cultural nuances of the Hakka Bayin music as preserved by the Guanxi Ancestral Longxi Bayin.

 

The Guanxi Ancestral Longxi Bayin Group is a significant representative of Hakka Bayin music and stands as a rare example of intergenerational transmission of this art form in the regions of Taoyuan, Hsinchu, and Miaoli. This lineage, which spans seven generations since their migration to Taiwan, has been meticulously preserved. The band was once invited to Japan, where they recorded an albums. Over the past decades, the band’s exceptional performances have been a frequent sight at various temple festivals and celebrations in Taoyuan, Hsinchu, and Miaoli, once setting a record with 31 consecutive performances in a single month.
