【112-2 English Book Club】

Purpose: To encourage students of our school to develop the habit of English reading, and cultivate independent thinking and English expression skills.

• Event Date: May 8th, 2024 (Wed.) 15:30-17:20
• Venue: Assembly Building1, R401 Guang-Fu Campus & Online
• Book: "Number the Stars" by Lois Lowry
• Participants: Students and faculty of our school
• Activity Format: Each session accommodates approximately 15-20 participants. Each session will be led by a teacher (Note 1) to discuss a designated book. Students who want to participate can inquire at the Self-Study Center and borrow the book (Note 2). On the day of the event, participants will read the book and engage in discussions under the guidance of the teacher. Afternoon tea will be provided for in-person attendees. Welcome to join and enjoy a pleasant time of English reading, discussion, and afternoon tea.

(Note 1): Activity Teacher: Fang-Ying Yang, Project Teacher at the Language Teaching and Research Center, NYCU

(Note 2): Participants who want to read the book in advance can either bring your own book or borrow from the Self-Study Center. If participants want to borrow books from the Self-Study Center, they need to pay a deposit of NT$500, which will be refunded upon return of the book (Please inquire at the Self-Study Center for borrowing between 9:00 am and 5:00 pm on weekdays). Books will also be available for borrowing on the day of the activity.

 Please register two days before the activity. Students who attend the entire event and complete the feedback questionnaire will receive two stamps for self-study plan / learning passport.

 Students who are absent from the event without valid reasons may affect their rights to reserve future center activities. Please notify any changes via email at least three days before the event.
