【Invitation】National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University 2024 Semiconductor Forum - Passing on the Torch for a Century, Guiding Across Generations

Dear Distinguished Guests,

Since the establishment of the "Department of Electronics Engineering" and the "Department of Electrophysics" at National Chiao Tung University in1964, we have passed through sixty years, nurturing many top talents with global mobility and interdisciplinary expertise for Taiwan's semiconductor industry, establishing Taiwan's strategic importance status in the semiconductor industry supply chain.

In 2015, National Chiao Tung University established the first international college in Taiwan focusing on the semiconductor industry, the "International College of Semiconductor Technology." Building upon existing teaching and research in electronics, materials, and mechanics, this college established a vertically integrated interdisciplinary college spanning the College of Electrical and Computer Engineering (Electronics, Electrical Engineering), the College of Engineering (Materials, Mechanics), and the College of Science (Electrophysics, Applied Chemistry). After merging with National Yang Ming University in 2021, in response to the demand for semiconductor talent cultivation, Yang Ming University established the "Department of Microelectronics" Preparatory Office in August 2022, continuing to cultivate semiconductor technology talents across the centuries, aiming to consolidate Taiwan's critical status in emerging technology industries.

In celebration of the 60th anniversary of the establishment of the "Department of Electronics and Electrical Engineering" (formerly the Department of Electronics and the Department of Electrical Engineering) and the "Department of Electrophysics," we are hosting the "2024 Semiconductor Forum" to commend the outstanding contributions of National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University in the field of semiconductors, to inspire the continuous promotion of talent cultivation and industry-academia research at NYCU, and to fortify our country's semiconductor foundation to meet the diverse talent needs of the industry.
